The old site of Qishan Fort at Shajiao is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The old site of Qishan Fort at Shajiao is located on Qishan Hill within the territory of Shajiao Power Plant in Shajiao Community, Humen Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. It was built between 1883 and 1889 during the ninth to sixteenth years of the Guangxu reign in the Qing Dynasty. During the expansion of the Shajiao Fort, ten artillery forts were built successively on Baicao Hill, Buyu Hill, Lun Hill, Wugong Hill, Qishan Hill, Gui Hill, Lion Hill, Baihe Hill, Xiang Hill, and Fenghuang Hill. The Qishan Fort was among those constructed during this period, covering an area of approximately 165 square meters. Currently, two artillery positions remain: one is a hidden bunker-style fort located midway up the hillside of Qishan, and the other is an open-air position at the foot of the hill. The bunker-style fort consists of a gatehouse, a tunnel through the mountain, and the hidden gun emplacement. The fort’s gatehouse lacks a plaque, but in 2000, a stone tablet inscribed with “Qi Cang Fort” (Qishan Fort) was discovered nearby. The maximum radius of the gun emplacement's fan-shaped area is 7.2 meters, with a chord length of 8.4 meters. The old site of Qishan Fort at Shajiao serves as an important location for patriotic education and national defense education, and also holds significant value for the study of Ming and Qing coastal defense relics. It was designated as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit in 1982.
