Zhang Zhenyong Manor

Zhang Zhenyong Manor is located on Lane 3, Gaoqiaofang, Boxia Community, Guancheng District, Dongguan City. It was the residence of Zhang Zhenyong, a merchant who produced raw materials such as saltpeter and sulfur during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty. Originally consisting of six buildings distributed on both sides of the courtyard, only the building at No. 9, Lane 3, Gaoqiaofang remains today, while the others have either been damaged, abandoned, or converted into modern structures. The existing building faces southeast and is situated northwest, featuring a three-room, three-courtyard, four-corridor layout, with Qingyun Lanes on both sides. It has an overall width of 15 meters and a depth of 29 meters. The walls are made of polished blue bricks, with granite plinths and red sandstone door frames. It has a flush-gable roof, herringbone gables, boat-shaped ridges, ceramic ridge tiles, and water spouts. The manor is grand in scale and represents a typical large household residence from the late Qing Dynasty, holding certain historical research value.

Boxia Community: Boxia Community in Guancheng was established on July 1, 2003. Its predecessor was the Boxia Subdistrict Office. The community covers an area of approximately 1.2 square kilometers. By the end of 2017, it had 2,547 registered households and a population of 10,063, with residential buildings mainly consisting of single-family houses.

Located within the old urban area, Boxia Community lies to the northwest of Guancheng. To its north is Wandao Batou Community, and to its south is Guancheng Xiyu Community. The Dongjiang River and the canal run along its eastern and western edges. The area has no heavy industrial enterprises and is mostly green space.
