Minglun Hall Property Creed Stele Pavilion

The Minglun Hall Property Creed Stele Pavilion was built in 1937, facing southeast and situated northwest. It is 6 meters wide, 6 meters deep, and 6 meters high. The pavilion is constructed of brick and stone, with a cement flat roof supported by eight Roman columns. There is a bluestone bench on each side and terracotta-patterned floor tiles. A pair of bluestone stone lions stands in front of the pavilion. On the inner front wall is embedded one stele titled “Stele Inscription of the Dongguan Minglun Hall Property Custody Confirmation Creed,” carved in intaglio on bluestone. The stele is 1.85 meters tall and 0.77 meters wide. The “Dongguan Minglun Hall Property Custody Confirmation Creed” was established in 1936 by Li Yangjing, who was then the chairman of the Minglun Hall Committee. He had this pavilion built in the park, hoping that “the public property of the county could be mutually upheld.” This stele provides a physical reference for understanding the public affairs activities of Dongguan at that time and for learning about the history and culture of Dongguan.
