Dongguan Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

The Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located at the summit of Yushan Hill in Dongguan People's Park. It was erected in 1959 by the Dongguan County People's Government to commemorate the martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives in the struggle against imperialism and feudalism. The monument is an obelisk with a two-tiered base, standing 16.5 meters tall, with the base measuring 4.98 meters in length and 4.96 meters in width. It has a reinforced concrete structure with a stone-plastered finish. Facing south and backed by the north, the front of the monument features the seven golden characters "革命烈士纪念碑" (Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument), while the first-tier base is inlaid with a bluestone tablet bearing the same inscription, detailing the reasons and date for the monument's establishment. The monument is surrounded by two tiers of bluestone railings, with lush green pines encircling the area, creating a solemn and respectful atmosphere. In 2003, four sets of stone sculptures—"Workers and Peasants Revolution," "Celebrating Victory," "Anti-Japanese Flames," and "Liberation Struggle"—were erected on both sides of the bluestone pathway in front of the monument.
