The arcade buildings on Zhongxing Road Commercial Street are located on Zhongxing Road in Guancheng District, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. Constructed during the Republican era, the arcades were built starting in 1931 and completed in 1934. The street features arcade-style buildings standing side by side, forming a continuous colonnade and unified streetscape. This architectural form evolved from the combination of ancient Western styles and traditional Southern Chinese culture, designed to offer shelter from wind, rain, and sun—particularly suited to the subtropical climate of Lingnan. Its commercial functionality is especially prominent. The ground floors house shops while the upper floors serve as residences. The entire arcade commercial street runs east to west, stretching approximately 400 meters in length with a width of about 10 meters. Each individual arcade building ranges between 5 to 10 meters in width, with a depth of around 34 meters.
