Former Site of the Dongguan Special Branch of the CPC

The former site of the Dongguan Special Branch of the CPC is located in the northern area of Dongguan Middle School in Dongguan City.

In the summer and autumn of 1923, Ruan Xiaoxian, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Socialist Youth League Guangdong Regional Committee, sent Mo Cuihua back to Dongguan to establish a youth league organization. In October, Mo Cuihua set up the Dongguan Branch directly under the Guangdong Regional Committee of the Socialist Youth League of China in Hongwuwō, with seven members, and Mo Cuihua serving as the branch secretary. In March 1924, Cai Ruping and Cai Rixin were appointed as special commissioners of the Peasant Department of the Kuomintang Central Committee and returned to Dongguan to carry out peasant movement activities. In November of the same year, Mo Cuihua, Cai Ruping, and Cai Rixin were successively admitted as Communist Party members. In December of that year, they formed the Dongguan Branch of the CPC, which was under the jurisdiction of the CPC Guangdong Regional Committee, with Mo Cuihua as the branch secretary. The branch office was located at Dongguan Middle School, making it the first CPC branch in Dongguan. Mo Cuihua also concurrently served as the secretary of the Dongguan Special Branch of the Socialist Youth League, and the party and league organizations operated jointly. Mo Cuihua’s main activity base was the student dormitory, which later became the teaching building of Dongguan Middle School. At Dongguan Middle School, he actively promoted Marxism-Leninism, introduced progressive books such as The Guide, The Young Pioneer, and ABC of Communism to progressive students, and developed party and league organizations. He successively admitted Li Benli, Zhou Tang, Huang Guoqi, Liu Bogang, Ye Duohui, and Li Henian into the Communist Party and the Socialist Youth League. At that time, the Communist Party and Socialist Youth League organizations in Dongguan were committed to mobilizing the workers' and peasants' movements.

The establishment of the Dongguan Branch of the CPC was a major event in the political life of the people of Dongguan. From then on, the revolutionary struggle of the people of Dongguan had a strong leading core.

Dongzheng Community: Dongzheng Community in Guancheng District is situated in the northeastern part of Dongguan City, bordered by Yajiaowei to the east, the Municipal People's Park to the south, Xizheng Road to the west, and the canal to the north. The community covers an area of approximately 2.5 square kilometers, with a registered population of 21,000. The Dongzheng Community Party Working Committee consists of three branches and governs seven residential groups: Dongzheng, Xuanhua, Anjing, Xinhe, Hongyu, Cuijing, and Jiaowei.
