The Dabu Revolutionary Martyrs Monument and Martyrs' Tomb

The Dabu Revolutionary Martyrs Monument and Martyrs' Tomb are located in the southwest corner of the collective cemetery "Anling" in Dabu Village, Machong Town, Dongguan City. They were built by Dabu Village on October 22, 1993.

The monument faces south and stands 3.8 meters tall, 1.85 meters wide, and 1.85 meters long. Its base is tiled externally, and the main column is constructed with stone plaster. The front of the monument bears eight red characters: “革命烈士永垂不朽” (“Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs”). Behind the monument lies the martyrs’ cemetery, where the tombs of five martyrs—Zhu Houliang, Zhu Woqun, Zhu Guoliang, Chen You, and He Chike—are arranged in a row. Each tomb is relatively independent, with an arched top and two stone pillars on either side. Each tomb stands 1.6 meters tall, 2.9 meters long, and 2.4 meters wide, with mosaic tiles covering the exterior. The southern wall is embedded with tombstones engraved with the names of the martyrs. The other three sides are enclosed with bricks, forming a complete small cemetery.

Zhu Houliang joined the Communist Party of China in Dabu in 1943, enlisted in the Dongjiang Column in 1945, and died in the line of duty in Zhanjiang in March 1953. Prior to his death, he was a political instructor with the 5th Regiment of the 2nd Division of the Fourth Field Army of the People's Liberation Army. Zhu Woqun joined the Communist Party of China in 1948, served as a platoon leader in the Jiaolong Squad of the 3rd Regiment of the 1st Detachment of the Dongjiang Column of the Guangdong-Guangxi-Hunan Border Region Column of the PLA in the summer of 1949, worked as a staff officer in the Dongguan County People's Armed Forces Department in 1952, and was sent to Taiping that same year to participate in anti-bandit operations. He was assassinated by the enemy in Sha Tin. Zhu Guoliang joined the underground Communist organization in Dabu in 1945 and enlisted in the 3rd Regiment of the 1st Detachment of the Dongjiang Column of the Guangdong-Guangxi-Hunan Border Region Column of the PLA in 1949. He died in battle at Fuzhushan, Liaobu, Dongguan, that same year. Chen You joined the 3rd Regiment of the 1st Detachment of the Dongjiang Column of the Guangdong-Guangxi-Hunan Border Region Column of the PLA in 1949 and died in battle at Hetian, Wujayong. He Chike, a soldier in the People's Liberation Army, died in February 1979 during the Sino-Vietnamese Self-Defense Counterattack War.

The martyrs’ cemetery is lush with trees and tranquil.
