Wen Tang Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument and Cemetery

Wen Tang Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument and Cemetery is situated on the campus of Wen Tang United Middle School at the foot of Da Wang Gong Mountain, south of Wen Tang Village in Dongcheng District, Dongguan City. It was established in 1966 to honor 16 revolutionary martyrs from Wen Tang who sacrificed their lives during the War of Resistance Against Japan and the Liberation War. These martyrs include Yuan Luo Jiong, Lu Chang, Yuan Qiao Wen, Yuan Chou Yin, Yuan Xu Ji, Yuan Fa Zhi, Zhong Gen, Li Mei, Yuan Cheng, Chen Lin, Yuan Deng Jia, Yuan Ding, Yuan Qi Hou, Yuan Xian Chen, and Yuan Xiang. The monument faces east and is built with cement and red bricks. Its square base measures 1.9 meters on each side, and the monument itself stands 4 meters tall. The front of the monument features inscriptions painted in red, although the text has now completely faded.

To commemorate the martyrs from Wen Tang who died in the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Liberation War, the Korean War, and the anti-bandit campaigns, the Wen Tang Village Committee constructed a new Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery in October 2002 at the foot of the hill next to Nian Feng Building in Wen Tang Nian Feng Villa. The cemetery covers an area of 3,000 square meters. Within the site, a memorial pavilion with yellow glazed tiles was newly built, measuring 13.1 meters in length, 10.8 meters in width, and 12 meters in height. In front of the pavilion, two rows of upright pine trees were planted along the steps. Inside the pavilion stands the Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument, oriented from south to north, measuring 1.8 meters in length, 0.2 meters in width, and 2.25 meters in height.
