Junker (1925–2001), originally named Xiong Boliè, began working in August 1940 and joined the Communist Party of China the same month. He served successively as a clerk and branch secretary of the Student Branch of Dongguan County Middle School, then as the general branch secretary. In early 1945, he was appointed secretary of the CPC Dongguan Shuixiang District Committee, later transferred to Dongguan Xin Yi District, where he served as the organization minister and then secretary of the CPC Dongguan Xin Yi District Committee. In September 1945, he became a clerk in the Organization Department of the CPC Luxi County Committee. After the withdrawal of the Dongjiang Column to the north in June 1946, he stayed in Dongguan to carry out underground struggle, serving as deputy instructor of the CPC Dongbao County Committee (Dongguan & Bao’an). In early 1947, he was appointed instructor of the CPC Dongbao County Committee, responsible for restoring armed struggle in the mountainous areas. In April 1948, he became a member of the Standing Committee and organization minister of the CPC Dongbao County Committee. In early 1949, he served as head of the Organization Department of the Political Department of the First Detachment of the East River Column of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Guangdong-Ganxi-Xiang Border Column, and concurrently as secretary of the Jiangnan Youth Committee. In July of the same year, he became vice principal of the Jiangnan Youth School (later renamed Dongjiang School). From October 1949 to February 1953, he served successively as a member of the Huizhou Military Control Commission and director of the Cultural and Educational Takeover Committee, president of the Dongjiang Daily, secretary of the Youth Committee of the CPC Dongjiang Regional Committee, third secretary of the CPC Zengcheng County Committee, and secretary of the Office of the CPC Guangdong East Regional Committee. From March 1953 to January 1963, he served successively as first deputy head of the Secretariat, office director, and research office director of the General Office of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee; head of the "Emancipate the Mind" Group under the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee; and researcher at the Research Office of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee. Starting in February 1963, he served successively as secretary of the CPC Longzhou County Committee, member and secretary-general of the CPC Nanning Regional Committee, deputy head of the Working Group of the Nanning Regional Revolutionary Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanning Regional Committee, deputy director of the Nanning Regional Revolutionary Committee, deputy secretary of the CPC Nanning Regional Committee, secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of the CPC Nanning Regional Committee, president and party group secretary of the Guangxi Daily, deputy director and consultant of the Policy Research Office of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, and member of the Regional Advisory Committee. He retired in 1993 and passed away in June 2001.
