Former Residence of Lu Huanguang

The former residence of Lu Huanguang is located at No. 8 Qianxiang Street, Guancheng Subdistrict. The residence consists of a front section and a rear section, with the front serving as a shopfront and the rear as Lu Huanguang’s living quarters. In September 1949, this place became the headquarters of the Guancheng General Branch of the Chinese Communist Party. Lu Huanguang (1923–1957), originally named Lu Zhi, also known as He Sheng and Lu Hanguang, was a native of Guancheng, Dongguan. In October 1938, he joined the Dongguan Anti-Japanese Model Militia. In January 1939, he was sent to Heyuan, where he served as a member and acting instructor in the political work team of the 3rd Regiment of the Independent 20th Brigade of the Nationalist 12th Army Group, engaging in military and underground work. In January 1941, he returned to Dongguan to work as an elementary school teacher. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in March 1941.
