The Shao Tong Ancestral Hall – Site of the Armament Repair Workshop of the Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces is a cultural relic protection unit of Dongguan City.

The Shao Tong Ancestral Hall – Site of the Armament Repair Workshop of the Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces is located in Xinwei, Taigongling Village, Dalingshan Town, with GPS coordinates: 22°55'22.9"N, 113°48'41.9"E, and an elevation of 32 meters.

The ancestral hall was first built during the Ming Dynasty, covering a total area of 242 square meters.

From the end of 1940 to 1941, the Third Battalion of the Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces set up an armament repair workshop at the Shao Tong Ancestral Hall in Taigongling, Dalingshan, Dongguan. The workshop was used to refurbish, assemble, and repair damaged firearms and other military weapons. At that time, the workshop had only a few old lathes and repaired battle-damaged weapons while also producing rudimentary homemade firearms. Staff and equipment often moved along with the troops.

The Armament Repair Workshop of the Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces was demolished in 1958 due to years of disrepair and becoming a dangerous structure. Only the site remains today. In January 2004, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Dongguan City by the Dongguan Municipal People’s Government.

Taigongling Village: Located in the northwest of Dalingshan Town, Taigongling Village is 3.5 kilometers from the town center, covering a total area of 2.24 square kilometers. The Taigongling Village Committee administers five villager groups, primarily residing in five residential areas: Dadi Residential Area, Yuantangzi Residential Area, Shuangling Residential Area, Jinlan Residential Area, and Yuanshanzi Residential Area. There are 478 local registered households with a population of 1,675, and over 7,100 migrants. The village hosts a total of 37 foreign-funded and private enterprises. In 2010, the total economic income of the village and group levels reached 12.6 million yuan.
