Former Residence of Li Henian

The former residence of Li Henian is located at No. 4, Lane 3, Ruan Yong Road, Xiyu Community, Guancheng Subdistrict, Dongguan City. Covering an area of about 70 square meters, it is a traditional three-bay, two-corridor-style residential house built in the late Qing Dynasty. In early 1928, it served as a liaison point for the Communist Party of China’s Dongguan County Committee.

Li Henian (1908–1929) was a native of Guancheng, Dongguan. On April 12, 1926, when the Dongguan Local Committee of the Communist Youth League was established, he was elected as an alternate member. In the autumn of 1927, Li Henian served as the Youth Affairs Commissioner of the CPC Dongguan County Committee and also as the Secretary of the Communist Youth League’s Dongguan County Committee.

In March 1928, the leading body of the County Committee moved to Yongtai Village in Wanjiang, not far from the county seat, and Li Henian’s home became a liaison point for the County Committee.
