Tianraobu Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

The Tianraobu Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located on Damoling in Tianraobu Village, Hengli Town, Dongguan City, with GPS coordinates: 23°02'36.6"N, 114°00'47.0"E, at an elevation of 19 meters.

During the Anti-Japanese War, the Tiedong Brigade of the Dongjiang Column conducted anti-Japanese operations in Tianraobu, setting up guerrilla bases and medical stations in areas such as the old walled village of Tianraobu and Jiuwang Chen. In the summer of 1945, Japanese forces surrounded a Dongjiang Column communication liaison station located in Changyuan, Tianraobu. During the battle, three guerrilla fighters sacrificed their lives heroically. In March 1948, another communication liaison station in Xinwei, Tianraobu Village, was encircled by Kuomintang troops, where three guerrilla fighters including Zhang Yunqing died bravely while breaking through the siege.

After the liberation of Dongguan, local villagers, in honor of the martyrs’ bravery, spontaneously erected a monument at the burial site of six martyrs including Zhang Yunqing, Chen Xueying, and He Lin. In 1988, Tianraobu Village constructed the Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument. In August 2001, the Village Party Branch funded its reconstruction. The cemetery covers an area of 1,200 square meters, nestled against a mountain ridge with a tranquil environment. The monument is surrounded by evergreen cypresses. The monument itself, inlaid with granite, stands 5 meters tall and features a three-tiered design. The main body is inscribed with seven red characters reading “Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument.” The second tier of the base is engraved with the flag of the Communist Party of China, and the bottom tier bears an inscription.

In April 2008, the Tianraobu Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument was designated as a Dongguan Patriotic Education Base by the Dongguan Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee.
