Yang Pei’s Former Residence

Yang Pei’s Former Residence is located in Yangmeigang Village, Zhonghe, Qingxi Town. GPS coordinates: 22°50'43.8"N, 114°10'13.0"E, at an elevation of 38 meters. The residence consists of two adjacent earthen-brick tile houses facing south, surrounded by residential buildings.

Yang Pei (1915– ), originally named Yang Guansheng, also known as Yang Linzheng, was from Yangmeigang Village, Qingxi, Dongguan. Before the July 7th Incident in 1937, he joined the Qingxi People’s Anti-Japanese Salvation Work Team (later renamed the “Qingxi Resistance and Salvation Work Group”) and engaged in anti-Japanese salvation activities. In August 1938, he joined the Chinese Communist Party. In October, he participated in the Qingxi People’s Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Brigade. At the end of December, he attended the armed training class held by the Dongbao Joint County Committee of the CPC in Kushudong, Qingxi, and served as a soldier and squad leader in the newly formed Dongbao-Hui Border People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Brigade.
