Fenggang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is situated on Huaguo Mountain in the eastern part of Fenggang Town's central area. It comprises the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument and Huangyou Pavilion. The martyrs' cemetery was reconstructed from Huaguo Mountain Park, covering an area of approximately 14,000 square meters, and was funded and built by the Fenggang Town Government. Its foundation stone was laid on July 22, 1994, and it was completed on July 22, 1995.

In October 1973, the Fenggang People's Commune first erected the Fenggang Revolutionary Martyrs Monument on Huaguo Mountain. It was rebuilt in April 1995, standing at the center of the mountaintop and covering an area of 324 square meters. The monument faces southeast and backs northwest, constructed of granite in a square obelisk shape with a two-tiered base. It stands 13.35 meters tall. The front of the monument bears eight large Chinese characters—“Revolutionary Martyrs Live Forever”—calligraphed by Zeng Sheng, former commander of the Dongjiang Column of the Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces. The front of the base is inscribed with the inscription composed by the Fenggang Town People’s Government, while the back lists the names of 46 martyrs.

About 20 meters southwest of the monument stands Huangyou Pavilion, built in memory of Huang You, a heroic soldier of the Dongjiang Column who sacrificed his life fighting the Japanese during the War of Resistance. Constructed in 1995 by the Fenggang Town Government, the pavilion covers a floor area of 17.2 square meters and sits on a site of 86 square meters. It is a reinforced concrete structure with a four-cornered hip-and-gable roof, yellow glazed tiles, and supported by four reinforced concrete pillars. A plaque inscribed with “Huangyou Pavilion,” personally written by Liu Tianfu, former Governor of Guangdong Province, hangs under the front eaves. Inside the pavilion stands a memorial stele for Huangyou, with an inscription by He Tong, former captain of the Independent Third Squadron (Flying Eagles) of the Dongjiang Column, detailing Huang You’s life and deeds. On July 21, 1944, the Independent Third Squadron of the Dongjiang Column encountered over 400 Japanese soldiers on Tiger Mountain in Fenggang. Huang You, leader of the squadron’s youth squad, led his team to seize a high point to block the Japanese advance and cover the main force’s retreat. During the battle, Huang You and four young soldiers—Fu Tiancong, Yin Lin, Lai Zhiqiang, and Li Ming—died heroically. After the battle, Yan’an’s Liberation Daily reported their bravery under the headline “Five Young Heroes of the Dongjiang Column Fight to the Death Against Hundredfold Odds.” The Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China posthumously honored Huang You as a “Guangdong People’s Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Combat Hero” and a “Model Communist Party Member.” Huang You was born in 1927 in Fengdeling, Fenggang Town, and joined the Dongjiang Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Forces in 1942. After his death, fellow villagers buried him and his comrades at the foot of Tiger Mountain. In 1973, the Fenggang Town Government relocated their remains to Huaguo Mountain.

Fenggang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is solemn, serene, and tranquil. It not only embodies the respectful atmosphere of mourning for the martyrs but also showcases the unique scenery of southern Chinese gardens.

Fenggang Town is located in the southeastern part of Dongguan City, at 22°40′35″N, 114°6′42″E. It borders Huizhou and Bao’an (now Longgang and Bao’an districts of Shenzhen) to the southeast, south, and west, and connects with Tangxia and Qingxi towns of Dongguan to the north.
