The site of the headquarters of the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Detachment of the Dongjiang Column is located at No. 11, Nipo Residential Group, Yufeng Community, Zhangmutou Town. In September 1944, after the formation of the 2nd Detachment of the Dongjiang Column, guerrilla warfare was carried out in the region east of the Guangzhou-Kowloon Railway. Among them, the 2nd Battalion was active in the Zhangmutou area and stationed in Nipo Village, using this location as its headquarters. From there, it conducted anti-Japanese resistance activities in the surrounding areas of Nipo Village, holding several important meetings at the headquarters to plan and strategize combat against the enemy. After the victory of the war, the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Detachment of the Dongjiang Column continued to use this headquarters to lead troops in persisting with resistance efforts in the eastern region of the railway, fighting against the “mopping-up” operations of the Kuomintang army, until June 1946 when the main forces of the Dongjiang Column withdrew northward.
