Qujiang Garden

Qujiang Garden is located on Dongdi South Road, on the west bank of the Zhen River, to the right of the former site of the ancient floating bridge pier on the East River. It is a riverside park for local residents to relax. Every day, many middle-aged and elderly citizens gather here to sing Hakka folk songs in duet, dance, and enjoy a rich folk culture atmosphere. There is also a grassroots-initiated “English Corner” in one corner of the garden. Every weekend, English enthusiasts come here to learn and communicate with each other, and sometimes foreign friends even join in to offer guidance.

There is a statue of Zhang Jiuling in the garden. Originally, to commemorate Zhang Jiuling, the central avenue in the city was named “Fengdu Road.” During the Tianxi era of the Song Dynasty, the people of Shaoguan built a Fengdu Tower spanning the crossroads in the middle section of Fengdu Road to honor Zhang Jiuling. Later, the tower was demolished due to urban street expansion.
