Introduction: The Ningcheng Hot Spring Tourism, Recuperation & Holiday Resort is located in Reshui Town, Ningcheng County, approximately 150 km from Chengde, 380 km from Beijing, and 110 km from Chifeng. National Highway Ping-Shuang runs through the area. The hot spring resources here are exceptionally abundant. The central well water reaches a temperature of up to 97°C, making it one of the hottest springs in China. The spring water contains a variety of trace elements that offer effective supplementary therapeutic benefits for many illnesses. The development and utilization of this hot spring date back over a thousand years. As early as the Liao Dynasty, Emperor Taizong of Liao and his successors came here to bathe. During the Yuan Dynasty, Prince Lu designated the Reshui Pond Hot Spring as a “Divine Spring” and “Holy Water.” Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty also bathed here during his inspection tours of the frontier regions, and the site of his bathing well still remains. Today, a “Sacred Spring Pavilion” has been built on the site of the well, becoming a scenic attraction within the resort. Within a radius of several kilometers around the resort, visitors can explore the vast and scenic Dahuoshi Reservoir, teeming with birds and fish; the famous Liao Dynasty mountain, Fufeng Mountain; the ruins of the Han Dynasty’s Youbeiping Commandery; the well-preserved Tibetan Buddhist temple, 0 Temple; and the lush, forested Heili River area, alive with birdsong and wildlife—offering a wide range of sightseeing options for travelers.

Currently, the holiday resort area features over 20 recuperation centers, holiday hotels, and business convention centers of varying grades and standards, with nearly 2,000 beds in total. Transportation, communication, and various fitness, leisure, entertainment, and recreational facilities are relatively complete. Reshui Town has been listed by the Ministry of Construction as one of China’s 500 key towns for urban development. The construction of a garden-style town integrating recuperation, tourism, and holidays is taking initial shape. Transportation: National Highway 303 runs through Reshui Town, and the Jitong Railway also passes through the town.
