Tizi Ouzou

Tizi Ouzou is located in the northern part of Algeria and serves as the capital and largest city of Tizi Ouzou Province. It is the second most populous city in the Kabylie region, after Béjaïa, and its name originates from the Berber language.

Tizi Ouzou was established by the Ottomans and expanded and developed significantly under French rule. It is now an important city in northern Algeria, home to the Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi Ouzou. As a trade center for agricultural products from the Greater Kabylie mountains, Tizi Ouzou also has industries such as olive oil production, fig processing, and winemaking.
