Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and North African countries have close ties with Schengen Area nations. Many of these countries have already reported cases, and given their location at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa, they serve as key transit hubs into Asia. Although border controls and quarantine measures have been strengthened, cases continue to be exported to other countries. Taiwan has already seen multiple imported cases from this region. The Command Center will closely monitor the pandemic developments and adjust the scope of travel advisories as necessary.
