Daihai Hot Springs

Daihai Hot Springs is located in Daihai Town, Liangcheng County, and was originally called "Horse-Dug Spring." The water temperature often reaches 38°C, with a daily output of over 2,740 tons. The spring water contains various trace elements such as strontium, lithium, zinc, and selenium, and is highly effective in treating rheumatic pain in the waist and legs. In recent years, with the rapid development of tourism, the Daihai Hot Springs area has developed into a summer resort that integrates "bathing therapy, entertainment, dining, tourism, and accommodation."

There is a legend about Daihai Hot Springs: It is said that during the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi was on a northern inspection tour on horseback. When he passed through Zhongshuitang Village on the north shore of Daihai, in the intense heat of July, his imperial horse pawed at the ground and unearthed a natural spring. It was later named "Horse-Dug Spring" in its honor. To commemorate this event, Emperor Kangxi personally inscribed a plaque, and the Yongxiang Temple was built, which still stands today. According to historical records, every summer, nobles, celebrities, scholars, and Buddhist monks from all over Mongolia would gather in Liangcheng to worship at sacred mountains, preach, soak in the hot springs, or admire the scenery of Daihai. They enjoyed the serene valley views and the rustic charm, making it an exceptional retreat in the frontier region.
