Singing Sand Bay is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction.

Singing Sand Bay Scenic Area Singing Sand Bay is located in the golden triangle region where Shaanxi, Shanxi, and Inner Mongolia meet. Covering an area of 24 square kilometers, it lies at the center of the “Golden Triangle” development zone formed by Hohhot, Baotou, and Ordos, and is known as the “Golden Button on the Golden Belt of the Yellow River.” Singing Sand Bay was opened as a tourist site in January 1984, rated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction by the China National Tourism Administration in 2002, and promoted to a national 5A-level tourist attraction in January 2011. It is a natural ecological and leisure resort destination.

After years of exploration and development, the scenic area has now essentially taken shape as one village (One Grain of Sand Resort), one harbor (Singing Sand Bay Harbor), and four islands (Fairy Sand Island, Joy Sand Island, Lotus Sand Island, and Fortune Sand Island). Singing Sand Bay Harbor is the gateway to the desert and also the main hub for tourists. From here, visitors can take a dune buggy to Fairy Sand Island or ride the desert sightseeing train to Joy Sand Island.

Fairy Sand Island is the most activity-packed area in Singing Sand Bay, featuring desert adventures and zip-lining, surfing and swings, track cycling, and a variety of thrilling experiences suitable for visitors of all ages. Here, you can also enjoy spectacular performances such as high-wire walking, motorcycle globe riding, knife mountain climbing, fire eating, fire spitting, and the grand show “Desert Acrobatics World” at Guolao Theater.

Take the train deep into the desert to reach the leisure world of Joy Sand Island. Here, you’ll see long camel caravans passing by ancient Mongolian tribes before entering Joy Sand Island, where you can experience the joy brought by art and sports, including rhythmic gymnastics, aerobics, street dance, and beach volleyball. The Fortune Sand Island Resort is located within Fortune Sand Island, deep in the desert, surrounded by natural desert landscapes.
