This tourism resource promotion event is one of the key activities of the Texas Tourism Bureau in the Chinese market for 2019, as well as a centralized showcase of Texas destinations and a communication window with Chinese tourism professionals. The Chinese market has always been a key focus for Texas, with the total number of Chinese visitors to the state continuing to rise in recent years.

Mr. Oliver Yang, Asia-Pacific Director of the Texas Tourism Bureau, stated, “Since the launch of multiple direct flights from China to Texas in 2015, the state has attracted a significant number of Chinese visitors. For Chinese tourists, Texas offers abundant tourism resources, allowing them to enjoy a uniquely different travel experience. We will continue to promote Texas in the Chinese market and look forward to more diverse collaborations with our tourism industry partners in the future.”

The visiting local tourism representatives from China included the Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau, NorthPark Center, Highland Park Village, American Airlines, and ground handler partner Zongheng Group. Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth are all renowned tourist destinations in Texas. Houston, the fourth-largest city in the U.S., lies along the Gulf Coast and is not only known as Space City but also home to the world’s largest medical center. Dallas boasts rich cultural, historical, and culinary heritage, along with upscale shopping malls. Fort Worth, the fifth-largest city in Texas, is a hub of cowboy culture, consisting of eight major entertainment districts, each offering unique dining, shopping, entertainment, and cultural facilities. NorthPark Center and Highland Park Village are two luxury shopping destinations in Dallas, providing a wide array of high-end shopping options and an exceptional shopping experience. Texas is one of the two states in the U.S. that offer tax refunds, allowing shoppers at designated malls in Texas to benefit from the “shopping tax refund” policy. American Airlines, Texas’ closest partner, operates multiple direct flights connecting major Chinese cities. With 24 years of experience, Zongheng Group specializes in high-quality local tourism services in Texas and maintains extensive collaborations with numerous travel agencies.

Known as the “Lone Star State,” Texas features diverse landscapes, ranging from deserts and swim-friendly coastlines to lush mountains and vast prairies. With up to 100 state parks and national parks, it is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. As the birthplace of cowboy culture, the state hosts large-scale cowboy festivals each year that attract visitors from around the world. Numerous vibrant and bustling metropolises are also located in this Lone Star State—five of America’s 15 largest cities are in Texas: Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio, each with its own distinctive urban character. The Texas Tourism Bureau hopes to strengthen communication and collaboration with China’s tourism industry through this promotion event, helping more Chinese travelers learn about Texas and looking forward to welcoming even more visitors from China.
