First Look at Five Major Zones of New Studio Ghibli Theme Park

The Aichi Prefectural Government and Studio Ghibli recently announced a collaboration to build the "Studio Ghibli Theme Park," with its location set in the Aichikyuhaku Park area in Nagakute City. The plan is to initiate the first phase in 2022, featuring five major zones including Youth Hill, Ghibli’s Big Warehouse, San’s Hometown, Witch Valley, and Forest Pathway.

Following the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo, the Studio Ghibli Theme Park is also set to be born, bringing the world of Ghibli animations to life, much to the excitement of fans. Covering an area of 200 hectares, the main entrance will greet visitors with architecture from the “Howl’s Moving Castle” scene.

The park is divided into five major areas, including Youth Hill, Ghibli’s Big Warehouse, San’s Hometown, Witch Valley, and Forest Pathway, recreating scenes from Ghibli animated stories.

In addition to recreating scenes from “Howl’s Moving Castle,” “Youth Hill” will also feature the antique shop “Earth House” from “Whisper of the Heart.” There is also “Ghibli’s Big Warehouse,” which houses Ghibli manuscripts and features an audiovisual exhibition room and a children’s play area that is unaffected by weather.

The “San’s Hometown” area, themed “Monster Village,” is designed in the style of Princess Mononoke’s Tatara Forge Town, where you can see characters from the animation such as Moro and the Forest Spirit.
