Air India claims world's longest flight route: Bangalore to Silicon Valley in 18 hours

Currently, the world’s longest flight is operated by Qantas between Sydney and Dallas in the United States, with a total flight time of around 17 hours. However, this world record is reportedly set to be broken,according to a report from the UK’s Daily Mail on the 25th of this month,Air India (Air India) has proposed a flight route from Bangalore, India, to Silicon Valley, USA, with an 18-hour flight duration, targeting business travelers.

The new route proposed by India connects Bangalore, the country’s third-largest city, with Silicon Valley in San Francisco — a major IT hub — spanning a distance of 14,000 kilometers, surpassing the Qantas Sydney–Dallas record. However, the report also noted that Emirates plans to cancel its long-haul Dubai–Panama route, operated in partnership with Qantas, which is about 13,760 kilometers.

The aforementioned route is expected to be announced during this week’s visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Silicon Valley. In addition, Air India also stated in its announcement that it plans to develop a new route between Ahmedabad, India’s seventh-largest city, and London, in response to strong passenger demand.
