The Inner Mongolia Engbei Desert Museum is a thematic exhibition hall that focuses on the scientific management of desertification, research and public education on desertification, the theory and practice of Qian Xuesen’s Sixth Industrial Revolution, and the new energy of sand industry.

In the Engbei Ecological Demonstration Zone in the heart of the Kubuqi Desert, there is an Inner Mongolia Engbei Desert Museum. This desert museum is a thematic exhibition hall that focuses on the scientific management of desertification, research and public education on desertification, the theory and practice of Qian Xuesen’s Sixth Industrial Revolution, and the new energy of sand industry.

The Engbei Desert Museum is divided into two main exhibition halls: Living in Harmony with the Desert and Green Gold Engbei. They respectively showcase the basic natural characteristics of arid deserts and the scientific knowledge of their rational development and utilization, as well as the journey of Engbei transforming from a barren, drought-stricken land into an oasis over the past 20-plus years, presenting the development trajectory of Engbei through a scientific lens.

Since its opening, the Engbei Desert Museum has gradually become an ideal venue for young people to receive popular science education on desertification prevention, ecological civilization education, experiential learning on the spirit of hard work and entrepreneurship, extracurricular training, and patriotic education. Every year, teenagers from China as well as from countries and regions such as the UK, the US, and Japan come here to participate in extracurricular practical activities.
