Halberstadt

Halberstadt is located at the northern foot of the Harz Mountains in Germany and is governed by the state of Saxony-Anhalt. Although it was severely damaged during World War II, the old town still retains several important historic buildings, creating a beautiful skyline.

Halberstadt Cathedral was constructed between 1235 and 1491 and is one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in Germany, often considered a unique and well-preserved medieval place of worship. St. Catherine’s Church, built in the 14th century, has three naves and no tower, and now serves as a Catholic parish church. The Heineanum is Germany’s largest ornithological museum, housing over 9,000 bird specimens, including many rare and extinct species. In addition, there are also Germany’s oldest literary museum, the city museum, the Jewish history and culture museum, and others.
