The number of countries offering visa-free entry or visa facilitation to holders of the Republic of China (Taiwan) passport has increased by five. Four new countries—Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan), Tajikistan (Tajikistan), Liberia (Liberia), and Djibouti (Djibouti)—have been added to the list of nations where Taiwanese can obtain a visa on arrival, while Gabon (Gabon) allows entry via an e-visa.

To travel to Kazakhstan, travelers must hold a valid Republic of China ordinary passport with at least six months' validity, a return ticket, and an invitation letter approved by the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued by the inviting Kazakh company or travel agency. Entry is possible through Almaty, Astana, or Aktau. After paying around US$80 in visa fees, a single-entry tourist or business visa with a maximum stay of 30 days can be obtained.

Travelers visiting Tajikistan do not need an invitation letter. With just a passport, return ticket, two photos, a copy of the passport, and by filling out a visa application form upon arrival and paying a US$35 visa fee, they can obtain a visa on arrival valid for up to 45 days.

To apply for a visa on arrival in Liberia, scan the data page of the passport holder’s passport (including the ID number) seven days before departure, then email it to taiwanvisaapp@mofa.gov.lr. Upon arrival at the airport, fill out the visa application form and pay the visa fee of US$100.

To visit Djibouti, travelers need to prepare a round-trip ticket and hotel reservation records. A single-entry visa on arrival with a one-month stay is available upon arrival, with a fee of US$90.

As for traveling to Gabon, Taiwanese can apply for an e-visa, which is a visa on arrival valid for three months with a fee of €70. Taiwanese travelers who fail to prepare the above documents may be denied entry to Gabon.
