Parisian Macao Opens Today; “Michael Jackson” Celebrates with Moonwalk

The 3,000-room Parisian Macao Hotel officially opened this evening (September 13). The Eiffel Tower of Paris Macao, a scaled-down replica of the original in Paris, was also illuminated with over 6,600 bulbs during tonight’s celebratory fireworks. In addition to guests from around the world, tonight’s opening night celebration was attended by celebrities including Karen Mok, Lara Fabian, and Lee Sung-kyung.

“The Shoppes at Sands Macao” on Macao’s Road l9 began with The Venetian Macao as the first landmark development, followed by the completion of hotels such as Four Seasons, Holiday Inn, Conrad, Sheraton, and St. Regis. The Parisian Macao, built at a cost of $2.9 billion, is most distinctive for the 162-meter-tall (about 38 floors) Eiffel Tower erected at its entrance—half the size of the original in Paris. Guests can pay to take an elevator to the observation decks on the 7th and 37th floors to enjoy the view, and the tower also presents 15 light shows daily.

In addition to 3,000 guest rooms, Parisian Macao houses over 150 branded stores, as well as restaurants, conference and exhibition venues, a themed water park, and a theater among other entertainment facilities. Inside Parisian Macao, efforts are made to create the ambiance of the Champs-Élysées using elements such as murals, three-dimensional reliefs, marble floor tiles, and crystal chandeliers.

During this afternoon’s press conference, the performance event Triller Live, which revives the late pop icon Michael Jackson, kicked off. Dancers impeccably mimicked Michael Jackson’s dance moves, including the “moonwalk” and the “45-degree lean.” This performance will also be a limited-time show exclusive to Parisian Macao. The evening opening ceremony featured a VIP-exclusive concert by Karen Mok, as well as fireworks, song and dance performances, and more.

Following the official opening, a series of fashion shows will begin on September 15 and 16. There are also accommodation package deals starting from HK$1,398 (approximately NT$5,773) per night, with a special loyalty program for Macao residents available from September 14 to 29.

The Shoppes at Parisian Macao features 50 shops, and the shopping street is also designed in a Parisian style.
