The number of countries offering visa-free or visa-facilitated entry for holders of Republic of China passports has increased by five. Four new countries—Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Liberia, and Djibouti—have been added to the list of nations where Taiwanese can obtain visas on arrival, while Gabon allows entry via e-visa.
 
To travel to Kazakhstan, travelers must hold a Republic of China ordinary passport valid for at least six months, a return ticket, and an invitation letter approved by the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued by the inviting Kazakh company or travel agency. Entry is possible at Almaty, Astana, or Aktau. After paying around USD 80 in visa fees, a single-entry tourist or business visa with a maximum stay of 30 days can be obtained.

Travelers visiting Tajikistan do not need an invitation letter. With a passport, return ticket, two photos, and a copy of the passport, applicants can fill out the visa application form upon arrival and pay a visa fee of USD 35 to receive a visa on arrival with a maximum stay of 45 days.
 
To apply for a visa on arrival in Liberia, scan the passport holder’s data page that includes the ID number and email it to taiwanvisaapp@mofa.gov.lr at least seven days before departure. Upon arrival at the airport, complete the visa application form and pay the visa fee of USD 100.

To visit Djibouti, travelers must have a round-trip ticket and hotel booking records, and can apply for a single-entry visa on arrival with a one-month validity upon arrival, with a fee of USD 90.

As for Gabon, Taiwanese can apply for an e-visa, which is a visa on arrival valid for three months with a fee of EUR 70. Taiwanese travelers who fail to prepare the aforementioned documents may be denied entry.
