The “Michael Jackson Estate” will collaborate with “Cirque du Soleil” for a performance. The Taipei leg of Michael Jackson’s “Immortal World Tour” will be held from June 28 to June 30 at Taipei Arena. This work will showcase a unique visual feast for fans around the world through Cirque du Soleil’s creative choreography, offering a glimpse into the beliefs and passion of the genius who transformed global pop culture. The show is directed and choreographed by Jamie King and features 50 international dancers, musicians, and acrobats.

The creative team chose Neverland Ranch as the location for their first meeting. Director Jamie King recalled: “I remember going to ‘Neverland Ranch’ with the creative team, where we met staff who still believed in Michael; I also remembered how he wrote much of the ‘Dangerous’ tour—on which I danced—under the Wishing Tree. I truly believe this is the perfect place to create this performance.” Set designer Mark Fisher explained that creating a rock show without the actual performer is extremely challenging because the set must fill the void and evoke the presence of the artist. The “Immortal World Tour” features a dynamic stage and high-tech multi-level scene transitions. Large, multifunctional LED screens lie flat or stand upright, sometimes serving as projection surfaces and other times transforming into ramps. At the center of the stage, giant drawers serve as stairs for performers.

The entire production is filled with the most imaginative costumes. Gangster outfits feature surreal guns; what appear to be guns hidden in pockets are actually just virtual forms, and when they "load" the guns integrated with their gloves, beams of light suddenly shoot out. Ghostly “Thriller” characters appear in shiny white costumes, revealing bloody viscera inside, expressing Michael’s love for horror films. There are over 250 costumes in the entire show, along with more than 1,200 accessories, shoes, hats, and headpieces. Among the over 90 costumes in the three acts, unique LED lighting technology is used. Tickets for the Taipei leg of Michael Jackson’s “Immortal World Tour” are now on sale, with prices ranging from NT$800 to NT$6,800.
