Kaieteur National Park

Established in 1929, Kaieteur National Park spans 630 square kilometers. The park was created to protect the region's stunning natural scenery and diverse flora and fauna. The park’s most iconic attraction is undoubtedly Kaieteur Falls, which is not only the highlight of Guyana but also draws global attention.

Kaieteur Falls is 450 feet wide, making it the widest single-drop waterfall in the world, and stands 741 feet tall—roughly five times the height of the world-famous Niagara Falls. From a distance, you can see the water cascading down, striking another rock mid-fall before continuing its plunge, eventually forming a turbulent river. This immense volume of water roars year-round, creating a majestic spectacle that becomes even more breathtaking during the rainy season when water levels are high.

Beyond this astonishing waterfall, the park’s wildlife, birds, and plants are also well worth visiting. The vibrant colors of the flora are delightful, birds sing melodious tunes in the woods as if accompanying the falls, and animals roam freely, contributing to a harmonious atmosphere.
