The main reasons Taiwan was included on the list include being a mountainous island treasure trove, boasting Asia’s best food, a clean and eco-friendly environment, and a progressive-minded population that embraces diverse cultures and religions. Although it neighbors mainland China, Taiwan presents a completely different world. Attractions such as Sun Moon Lake, Jiufen teahouses, and night markets are must-visits.
