The media outlet “Business Insider UK” reported that natural landscapes, wildlife, and cultural experiences are the main themes of travel in 2016. They selected 12 emerging destinations that are a must-visit, with Taiwan making the list due to its rich cuisine, diverse cultures, and religious tolerance. Other destinations include Kyrgyzstan’s layered mountain vistas, Iceland’s natural beauty, Guyana’s pristine jungles, and Madagascar’s lemurs — all must-see countries for 2016.

Taiwan was recognized mainly as a mountainous island treasure, boasting Asia’s best cuisine, a clean and eco-friendly environment, and a progressive populace that embraces multiculturalism and religious diversity. Although it neighbors mainland China, it presents an entirely different world. Attractions such as Sun Moon Lake, Jiufen teahouses, and night markets are must-visits when in Taiwan.
