Echmiadzin Cathedral
Attraction Introduction There is a famous tourist destination in the suburbs, namely the ancient capital of Armenia—Echmiadzin. It is said to have been built in the 4th century and served as the seat of the Catholicos (Supreme Patriarch) of all Armenians. The site features the Echmiadzin Cathedral, built in 303 AD by Armenia’s first Catholicos, St. Gregory the Illuminator.
