The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on August 10 that the number of countries and regions offering visa-free (or visa-on-arrival) and other visa facilitation treatments to holders of Republic of China passports has increased by 6, namely India, Iran, Armenia, Qatar, Côte d'Ivoire, and Somaliland, bringing the total from the original 142 to 148.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Indian government recently announced that from August 15, 2015, nationals holding Republic of China passports can enjoy e-visa treatment to facilitate people-to-people and economic and trade exchanges between the two countries and deepen bilateral relations. In addition, Republic of China passport holders can enter Iran and Armenia under visa-on-arrival arrangements, Qatar and Côte d'Ivoire under e-visa arrangements, and Somaliland under visa-free arrangements.
 

● India

Starting August 15, 2015, nationals holding a Republic of China passport valid for at least six months can apply for an e-visa online at least four days before their scheduled departure for tourism, business, etc. The fee is USD 60 per person, single entry, valid for 30 days from the date of arrival in India, with a maximum of two e-visa entries per year.

Holders of e-visas can enter India through 16 designated airports including Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Gaya, Jaipur, Varanasi, Trichy, and Lucknow. Departure can be from any location with an Immigration Check Post.
 
● Iran
Nationals holding a Republic of China passport valid for at least six months and a return (or onward) ticket can apply for a visa-on-arrival at Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport, Tehran Mehrabad Airport, Tabriz, Shiraz, Esfahan, Mashhad, Kish Island, and Gheshm Island. For business purposes, the maximum stay is 14 days per visit; for tourism, the maximum stay is 15 days per visit. The visa fee is EUR 80 (amount may vary slightly depending on the purpose of entry).

※ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds nationals that if there is an Israeli visa or related notation on their passport, Iran may refuse to issue a visa.

● Armenia
Nationals holding a Republic of China passport valid for six months, a return ticket, and a photo (3.5cm × 4.5cm) can apply for a visa-on-arrival at Yerevan Zvartnots Airport, the capital of Armenia. The fee for a 21-day single-entry tourist visa is AMD 3,000 (about USD 6), for a 120-day visa is AMD 15,000 (about USD 30), and for a single-entry transit visa is AMD 10,000 (about USD 20).
 
● Qatar

Qatar offers e-visa treatment to our nationals. Nationals holding a valid round-trip ticket with Qatar Airways and who have booked accommodation through the airline’s travel department Discover Qatar can apply online via the company’s website to obtain a single-entry, non-extendable tourist visa valid for 60 days with a 30-day stay period. The processing time and fees for this visa are: express service in 7 working days for USD 120, and standard service in 10 working days for USD 55.
