Award-winning chefs Torres Twins(Javier Torres and Sergio Torres, who played a fundamental role in discovering the dialogue between fashion and food) initiated this new activity after a creative exchange withphotographer and art director Tamu McPherson during a creative exchange.
The textures, colors, and shapes of the 10-course menu created by the Torres Twins inspired Tamu, who then shot a series of photos featuring 10 fashion looks, to be published on La Roca Village’s digital platforms in the coming months. The collaboration was presented yesterday to our guests, culminating in the Torres Twins completing a challenge to create a lifelike royal figure out of milk, almonds, and fig leaves,an artwork specially made for La Roca Village, inspired by McPherson’s style during the event. Javier Torres and Sergio Torres said they had fun taking part in the project: “Bringing these two similar worlds together, they found a connection through inspiration.”
At La Roca Village, this dialogue between fashion and food will run until August 30, after whichthe best “Made in Catalonia” products— primarily various culinary delights — will be showcased, allowing discerning international travelers always on the hunt for refined specialties to savor the finest Catalan cuisine. In the coming months, visitors to La Roca Village will be able toexperience authentic Catalan flavors Cluster Gourmet de Catalunyaat the Catalane foodmarket set upin the Lobby Cafésquare. This food market will bring together a variety of the most iconicCatalan delicacies and souvenirs,and we expect thousands of visitors to arrive at La Roca Village this summer, about 60% of whom will be international tourists, all of whom will be able to take some home to enjoy.
Over130 domestic and international brand boutiqueswill offer the finest Catalan cuisine: from Torrons Vicens’ nougat to El Pastoret de la Segarra’s yogurt, Juve i Camps’ cava, Perafita’s coca, Dama de Elaia and Serra Ferran’s oils, Betara’s cheese, as well as sausages from Mas Gourmets and Embotits Salgot. The eight restaurants at La Roca Village are also joining the gastronomic experience, and visitors will be able to indulge throughbeverage stands offering organic juices, ice cream, and cocktails,transforming the entire La Roca Village into a true gourmet street.
