The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on August 10 that the number of countries and regions offering visa-free (or visa-on-arrival) and other visa facilitation treatments to holders of Republic of China passports has increased by six, namely India, Iran, Armenia, Qatar, Côte d'Ivoire, and Somaliland, bringing the total from the original 142 to 148.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Indian government recently announced that from August 15, 2015, nationals holding Republic of China passports are eligible for e-visas to facilitate people-to-people, economic, and trade exchanges between the two countries and deepen bilateral relations. In addition, holders of Republic of China passports can obtain visa-on-arrival in Iran and Armenia, e-visas in Qatar and Côte d'Ivoire, and visa-free entry to Somaliland.
 

● India

From August 15, 2015, nationals holding a Republic of China passport valid for at least six months can apply for an e-visa online at least four days before their scheduled departure for purposes such as tourism or business. The fee is USD 60 per person, single entry, valid for 30 days from the date of arrival in India, with a maximum of two e-visa entries per year.

Holders of e-visas can enter India through 16 designated airports including Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Gaya, Jaipur, Varanasi, Trichy, and Lucknow. Departure can be from any Immigration Check Posts.
 
● Iran
Nationals holding a Republic of China passport valid for at least six months and a return (or onward) ticket can apply for a visa-on-arrival at airports such as Tehran Imam Khomeini, Tehran Mehrabad, Tabriz, Shiraz, Esfahan, Mashhad, Kish Island, and Gheshm Island in Iran. For business purposes, the maximum stay is 14 days per entry; for tourism, it's 15 days per entry. The visa fee is EUR 80 (actual amount may vary slightly depending on the purpose of entry).

※ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds nationals that if there is an Israeli visa or related notation on their passport, Iran may refuse to issue a visa.

● Armenia
Nationals holding a Republic of China passport valid for six months, a return ticket, and a photo (3.5cm × 4.5cm) can apply for a visa-on-arrival at Yerevan Zvartnots Airport, the capital of Armenia. The cost for a 21-day single-entry tourist visa is AMD 3,000 (about USD 6), for a 120-day visa it’s AMD 15,000 (about USD 30), and a single-entry transit visa costs AMD 10,000 (about USD 20).
 
● Qatar

Qatar offers e-visa treatment to our nationals. Citizens of the Republic of China holding a valid round-trip ticket to Qatar booked through Discover Qatar, the airline’s travel division, can apply online via the company’s website to obtain a single-entry, non-extendable tourist visa valid for 60 days with a 30-day stay period. Processing times and fees are: urgent cases in 7 working days with a fee of USD 120; regular cases in 10 working days with a fee of USD 55.
