Altai Tavan Bogd National Park

Altai Tavan Bogd National Park is a national park located in Bayan-Ölgii Province in western Mongolia, covering a total area of approximately 6,362 square kilometers. The Tavan Bogd mountain range within the park is part of the Altai Mountains. Its highest peak, Friendship Peak, is the tallest in Mongolia, while Mount Kuitun is the meeting point of Mongolia, China, and Russia.

In addition to its majestic mountains, Altai Tavan Bogd National Park also features three lakes, including Dayan Lake. These lakes not only provide vital water sources for wildlife in the park but also serve as stunning natural attractions. Today, a variety of species, such as argali sheep, ibex, red deer, stone martens, moose, and snowcocks, thrive freely within the park. Visitors respect their habitat, enjoying the park’s breathtaking scenery while minimizing disturbance to the animals’ natural behavior.
