Khustain Nuruu National Park

Khustain Nuruu National Park, also known as Hustai National Park, is a national park located in Töv Province, Mongolia, just 100 kilometers west of the country’s capital. Covering a total area of 560 square kilometers, the Tuul River flows through the park, providing abundant water sources for its wildlife and vegetation.

Mongolia established a protected area in the region in 1993, upgraded it to a national park in 1998, designated it as a biosphere reserve in 2002, founded a trust fund in 2003, and joined the International Union for Conservation of Nature in 2007. The park’s most famous wildlife is the Przewalski’s horse, along with 43 species of mammals, 217 species of birds, 2 amphibian species, 16 fish species, 385 insect species, and 459 species of vascular plants, 85 lichens, 90 mosses, and 33 fungi. With extremely rich biodiversity and stunning natural scenery, it is highly favored by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and loved by tourists.
