Ulaanbaatar is located in the central part of the Mongolian Plateau, meaning "Red Hero City." It is the capital of Mongolia, the country's largest city, and its political and transportation hub. The city has an exceptionally young population, with 70% under the age of 30, earning it the title of "the youngest city in the world."

Ulaanbaatar is broad, well-organized, and scenic. It is both an ancient city on the Mongolian steppe and a rapidly developing modern one. The city is dotted with high-rise buildings that rise up one after another, and among the clusters of modern structures, traditional Mongolian yurts can still be seen. The perfect blend of tradition and modernity gives Ulaanbaatar added charm and character. As a relatively young city, Ulaanbaatar has few historical buildings, making temples one of its most popular attractions. The most famous is Gandantegchinlen Monastery, along with others such as Xingren Temple (Choi Jun Temple) and Gandan Monastery. The Mongolian National Classical Art Theater, Sükhbaatar Square, Zaisan Memorial, the Mongolian National Stadium, Friendship Park, and the statue of Genghis Khan on horseback are also must-visit sites in Ulaanbaatar.
