Pottery Square
Introduction It is said that 70% of Nepal's pottery originates here, making it a favorite spot for photography enthusiasts. In 1646, a wealthy potter funded the construction of the Jeth Ganesh Temple in the center of the square, reflecting the long history of pottery-making activities in the area, which continues to this day as the temple’s priests are still chosen from the potter caste. During the daytime, the square and its surroundings are filled with half-finished pottery pieces and people idling about, all basking in the sunlight.
