AirAsia X adds Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu route with one-way fares starting at NT$3,990

AirAsia X, the long-haul subsidiary of AirAsia, is adding a new route again. Starting today, tickets for direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, are on sale online. The promotional one-way fare including taxes starts at just NT$3,990, with travel dates from September 1, 2012, to May 22, 2013.

The new route launched on July 3, 2012, was initially only available through selected travel agencies in Kuala Lumpur and Kathmandu. However, due to strong demand and positive feedback from travelers, it has been decided to open online sales via the official website, allowing more passengers to purchase tickets directly over the internet. Flights operate every Tuesday and Thursday, departing Kuala Lumpur at 11:45 AM for Kathmandu, and returning from Kathmandu to Kuala Lumpur. The collaboration between AirAsia X and AirAsia expands the range of destinations served by both airlines, and when transiting in Kuala Lumpur, passengers can go straight to the departure gate without going through immigration. Checked baggage can also be tagged through to the final destination. AirAsia X continues to add new routes, with plans to launch flights from Taipei to Haneda by the end of the year, and by February next year, there will be two daily flights from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur.

In addition, AirAsia X is also the first low-cost long-haul airline to introduce fully lie-flat premium business class seats (Premium Seats). These seats follow standard business class specifications and feature a forward-extended, 77-inch fully flat seat. The seat comes equipped with universal power outlets, an adjustable headrest, and built-in amenities such as a tray table, beverage holder, reading light, and personal TV screen. Passengers who choose the Premium Seats can also select their seats for free, check in up to 20 kg of luggage, and enjoy complimentary in-flight meals, personal pillows, and blankets.
