University of Malaya Botanical Garden

Introduction

The University of Malaya Botanical Park is located in a tranquil corner of the University of Malaya campus and is also known as the "Forest of Knowledge." Covering an area of 40 hectares with undulating terrain, the park was established by the university's Department of Botany for research, education, and environmental conservation. It is home to over 1,500 species of native Malaysian plants, including wild fruit trees, ginger plants, orchids, citrus trees, screw pines, and other herbaceous plants.
