Is AirAsia planning to resume its “Kuala Lumpur–London” route, which has been canceled for over two years? On the 26th, AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes posted on his personal Twitter: “Tell me why you love AirAsia X, and I’ll give you a free ticket on the upcoming Kuala Lumpur–London flight…” — clear evidence that this route is set to return.
AirAsia X, which primarily operates the airline’s long-haul routes, launched the “Kuala Lumpur–London” service in 2009 but canceled it in 2012 due to poor passenger loads, rising international oil prices, and other issues. According to foreign media reports, aside from announcing the relaunch of the London route, Tony Fernandes also revealed that they are considering opening a route to Hawaii.
