There's a new way to explore Malaysia recently. In collaboration with China Airlines, Tourism Malaysia is promoting a two-city entry itinerary to fully experience the country. Travelers can take advantage of direct flights to both Kuala Lumpur and Penang, choosing either a “Kuala Lumpur entry, Penang exit” or “Penang entry, Kuala Lumpur exit” route to enjoy both cities — making it a popular choice for exploring western Malaysia lately. Recently returned from their trip to Malaysia, popular artist Second and the creator of HowToTrip shared that this travel style allows visitors to experience two distinctly different cityscapes.

Second said that Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, is a highly modern city, while Penang boasts quaint, old-world charm. Among his top recommendations are Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Towers Skybridge, Dialogue in the Dark, Container Hotel, and the street murals of Penang. As for food, don’t miss the locally iconic “Spicy Noodles” (Laksa). Popular blogger Nai Li also recommends Penang’s Peranakan culture and cuisine, as well as the region’s abundant tropical fruits — all must-tries when visiting Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
