Introduction

Genting Highlands is a tourist and summer resort destination in Malaysia, situated on the eastern slopes of the central range of the Titiwangsa Mountains in southwestern Pahang, approximately 50 kilometers northeast of Kuala Lumpur. The complex is located on Gunung Ulu Kali at an elevation of 1,772 meters, making it the largest highland resort in Southeast Asia. The casino at Genting Highlands is the only legal casino in Malaysia, operating 24 hours on weekends and from 10:00 AM to 4:00 AM on weekdays. A notice at the casino entrance, posted by the Sultans of Selangor and Pahang, warns Muslims that they are not permitted to enter, and even if they do, they are not allowed to gamble. The theme park features thrilling rides such as roller coasters, elevators, high-altitude carousels, and spaceships. At the mountaintop, there is a 4-hectare artificial lake surrounded by attractions including a children’s train, a golf course, a heated swimming pool, and streams for boating. Tip: Visitors must show their passport to enter the casino, and those under 21 years of age are not allowed in. Transportation

Take the Putra Line LRT to Terminal Putra (Gombak), then transfer to a bus that goes directly to the Genting cable car station. The combined fare for the bus and cable car (one way) is RM7.6.
