Central Market: Originally a large marketplace for vegetables and meats, it has now been refurbished and is filled with small shops and stalls selling fashion, handicrafts and daily goods. Locals often meet here to shop, dine, and enjoy the view of the Klang River. Dayabumi Complex: Located across the Klang River from the Central Market, this silver-white building was once the tallest in Kuala Lumpur. To its north is the Malaysian Handicrafts Store, which specializes in high-end Malaysian crafts, while to the south stands the Central Post Office Building, which retains colonial-era features. Government Street: Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, lined with large green spaces and Arab-style architecture. The most famous landmark here is the Federal Secretariat Building (Sultan Abdul Samad Building), a two-story structure that blends Arab and Western architectural styles. Merdeka Square: Situated opposite “Government Street,” it is a popular spot for tourist photos. At the other end of the square, the red-tiled, white-walled building on the green lawn is the prestigious members-only Selangor Club. National Mosque: Located to the north of “Government Street,” between the Klang River and the Gombak River.
