Built in 1910, the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station has a history of nearly 100 years and is a historic building heavily influenced by Moorish architectural style. One of its most notable features is the East-meets-West design. The station is an Islamic-style Moorish structure and is also a one-of-a-kind railway station in the world that mimics a mosque, with some even saying it “looks more like a mosque than a mosque.”

Designed by architect A.B. Hubback, the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station underwent major renovations in 1988. The building is pure white and exudes a distinct exotic charm. Characterized by arches, columns, domes, and minarets, it creates a Byzantine-style wonderland. The entire station is designed like a square castle, with train tracks in the center and ornately crafted “gateways” on both sides for trains to enter and exit. The Kuala Lumpur Railway Station is the heart of Malaysia, playing a crucial role in transporting tourists across the country and boosting the development of domestic transportation.
