The National Theatre is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Established in 1999 and designed by local architects, it serves as a venue for a variety of theatrical, dance, and musical performances from both Malaysia and around the world. Its aim is to elevate the standards of performing arts, create high-quality productions, enrich people's daily lives, and enhance their appreciation of the arts.

The design of the National Theatre prioritizes functionality while also featuring an eye-catching architectural exterior. Inspired by kites soaring in the sky, the designers created the theatre with a blue-green roof shaped like outstretched wings ready to take flight, blending elements of national culture with traditional Malay design artistry. The interior is equally spectacular, with doors and windows made from marble sourced from Langkawi Island and tropical wood, adorned with intricate carvings. The auditorium accommodates 1,412 seats, and the orchestra pit can hold up to 98 musicians.

The theatre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. To date, it has hosted numerous performances including plays, dances, and musical shows, which are held regularly and have received widespread acclaim.
